This is the old historic centre of Cannes and is the new up-and-coming area. Its foundations date back to the tenth century. It is know locally as Le Souquet. Here you will find charming cobbled streets and some of the more traditional French restaurants and shops. The ‘Suquet’ is located 0.5 – 2 Km from the town centre and is a short five to ten minute walk to the ‘Palais de Festivals’. The prices of apartments in this area tend to be slightly cheaper than those in the centre, predominantly because they are in old buildings that often have no lift.
