The elegant Musiciens area is just North of Victor Hugo and stretches up to the train station, with the roads named after famous musicians - Rue Rossini, Rue Verdi, Rue Paganini etc.... You will find a huge range of residences here, from typically Niçois buildings through to the grandest and most ornate Belle Epoque residences. This area is a top choice for the lifestyle it offers - everything is on your doorstep - and the prices do reflect this. You can count on at least 250 000 euros for a decent one bed in the Carré d'Or- slightly less in the Musiciens. Prices are cheaper up nearer to the train station which is a lively area and is close to the tramway. The train station is often overlooked by foreign buyers but in fact the roads just south of the train station are fine locations and should be considered if you want to get more for your money.
