French Inheritance Planning

You should carefully consider your inheritance planning when you are making your French purchase. We recommend that you speak to the notaire or a qualified financial advisor before the contract is signed. The form of ownership you adopt is crucial to avoid unnecessary inheritance problems in the future.

There are various ways of owning a French property (in your own name, in joint or multiple names, through various corporate structures etc) and each has advantages and disadvantages. We always recommend you seek relevant legal advice from your notary and we will be happy to put you in touch with an English speaking notaire when you visit.
