Libération is very much the next up-and-coming area in Nice centre and definitely a place to look if you wish to purchase a central apartment with all the commodities near by but without paying the premium of the more established top addresses. The new tramway has really opened this area up and it’s a lovely spot with tons of local shops, character and some truly gorgeous buildings. The Liberation area starts from behind the train station – along Rue Malaussena and goes up all the way to Avenue Borriglione – all just a couple of minutes tramway from Place Massena. It is very famous for its fantastic market which is held every day except Mondays and also for the old train station that was built in 1890 and that very soon will become the new Mairie (town hall) of Nice ! |
