French New Build Reservations When you decide to go ahead and purchase your off-plan property you must complete a Reservation Contract. This is the preliminary legal contract (equivalent to the Compromis de Vente used in resale property) and contains the same important clauses such as your 7-day cooling off period (Loi SRU) and ‘subject to mortgage’ clause (Clause Suspensive).
Your Attika representative will be present and guide you through this process and answer any questions you may have - and we will never, ever, put any pressure on you to sign any documentation! The Reservation Contract is somewhat longer than a Compromis de Vente since it contains other documents including the list of specifications, a plan of the apartment, a plan of the development, the stage payment scheduling and of course the actual contract between the vendor and purchaser. A maximum of 5% is required as a deposit in order to reserve a property - this is your first stage payment. If you change your mind within your 7-day cooling off period this sum will be reimbursed to you. Should you fail to obtain a mortgage the deposit will be refunded to you also. |
