68 years on from Nice's Liberation

From Sunday the 26th August until Tuesday the 28th the town of Nice will be celebrating 68 years since its liberation from Nazi occupation during the war.

On Sunday, from 7am to 5pm at Place Massena and Jardin Albert 1er there will be a display of military vehicles and a market selling old military antiques.Monday from 7am onwards there will be market of antique military paraphernalia, followed by a parade again starting at Place Massena and the Albert 1er gardens.

Tuesday sees a more mixed program starting at 11am with a parade from MIN (close to the airport) to Place Massena, followed by an exhibition and market of military objects in Massena from 12.30 until 4pm.

At 4.30pm there will be a parade from Place Massena to the war memorial (next to the port) followed by a memorial ceremony at 5pm. The final event of the day will be a parade of military aircraft which will return via the Promenade des Anglais, ending at MIN.

Entry is free and it will be a great way to keep your kids and military fanatics occupied over the holidays whilst remembering the great heroes of the war.
